SyBBURE Students Place 2nd in Vanderbilt 2020 Global Health Case Competition

The Global Health Case Competition is an opportunity for students from diverse disciplines and backgrounds to collaborate in the development of innovative solutions to a global health problem. Summer 2019 Best Paper Awards

Team SyBBURE nominated seven students for Summer 2019 Best Paper Award based on the end of summer 2019 papers they submitted. The winners were selected and revealed at the Spring 2020 Kickoff Party on January 10th, 2019. The winners were: senior Emily Layton-1st place and two juniors: Seth Drey and Amelia Taylor tied for 2nd place. Congratulations!

SyBBURE Students Receive VandyHacks VI Hackathon Prizes

Two SyBBURE Students received awards at VandyHacks VI, Vanderbilt University’s annual collegiate hackathon, which took place in November, 2019. Senior Jacob Fine received Most Outside the Box Hardware Hack, presented by BNY Mellon. This prize is awarded for the most creative and outside the box hardware hack. Senior Alex Stephens received Best use of Google Cloud. Congratulations!

SyBBURE ALUMNI PANEL, October 3rd 2019

Five SyBBURE alumni came back to campus last month to connect with current students, talk about their careers and answer the students’ questions. The Alumni who were present were: Bowen Shaner- C4MI Test Development Engineer, Matt Rogers- Vanderbilt Graduate Student, Jake Hughey- Vanderbilt Assistant Professor, Jen Colby- VUMC Medical Director Special Chemistry and Poojitha Matta- Clinical Research Associate at Covance.
